I've Never Been to Me

(Rea's favourite part)
Hey lady, you lady, cursing at your life
you're a discontented mother and a regimented wife
I have no doubt you dream about the things you'll never do

but I wish someone had talked to me like I wanna talk to you
Oh, I've been to Georgia and California and anywhere I could run
Took the hand of a preacher man
and we made love in the sun
But I ran out of places and friendly faces
Because I had to be free
I've been to paradise but I've never been to me
Please lady please lady
don't just walk away
Cause I have this need to tell you
why I'm all alone today
I can see so much of me still living in your eyes
won't you share a part
of a weary heart that has lived a million lives
Oh, I've been to Nice and the isle of Greece
where I sipped champagne on a yacht
I moved like Harlow in Monte Carlo
and showed them what I've got
I've been undressed by kings
and I've seen some things that a woman ain't s'pose to see
I've been to paradise .....

(Harum's favorite part)
"Hey, you know what paradise is?
It's a lie
a fantasy we created about people and places
as we like them to be
but you know what truth is?
it's that little baby you're holding
and it's that man you fought with this morning
the same one you are gonna make love to tonight
that's truth that's love"

Sometimes I've been to crying for the unborn children
that might have made me complete
but I, I took the sweet life
I never knew I'd been bitter from the sweet
I spent my life exploring the subtle whoring
that costs too much to be free
hey lady I've been to paradise...

Open Water

Last weekend, me and my boo went mall-ing in Plaza Semanggi.., again.. :D..
We ate at Yakunkaya, again.., :D.., and then ate at Food Court, soup and porridge, and then later at Platinum. :D
In the mean time we spent our time in QB, reading books. I read the Ande Ande Lumut story, I know the story already, I just want to compare it with what I have in mind as a child, it was quite a different story, but okay lah.., at least now my versions of the Ande Ande Lumut story is richer. When I think of it, it becomes more like all that western fairy tales stories.., like Cinderela!! to be exact. Exactly .., like Cinderella.., true and true.., recall that story, it is really like Cinderela don't you think. With all the sisters and the ugly ducking (which is actually the most beautiful one), the fairy mother (bangau in Ande Ande Lumut) and all the chores.., the sweeping, the washing. Minus the glass shoes though, and in Ande2 Lumut plus the river and the Yuyu Kang Kang.
Bambang actually bought a book, titled "Betawi, The Queen of the East" as always, his passion is in history, any kind, world history, Indonesian history, he has lots of books on that, you name it he knows it. especially war history. yah.., as long as he's just a reader I don't mind, but if, knock on wood, there's a war, i would be the first to tie him down and carry him on my back running as far away as I can from it, because he would've join it, but i wouldn't allow him, not ever, knock on wood it doesn't happen. But the book about the history of Betawi is actually quite interesting. Really. I myself like history and ancient buildings. To know their story is breathtaking to me, and I am interested in it, so I found this Betawi history book interesting (unlike his other books on war history. wahh.., there's one called naval history yah.., its content is only drawings of all the versions and types of warships. he's very interested with that book.)
Afterwards, we went to see a movie. First we were heading to see 'Be Cool', but on the spot, he changed his mind and bought 'Open Water' instead.., wahhhh..., at first I don't mind, because the term 'Open Water' is very enticing to me, since I am so so into beaches, BUT it turned out it is a nut movie (terjemahan bebas: film kacangan.. hahahahaha)..., bener2 deh ceritanya cuma about a couple going on vacation, doing scuba diving, and then got left in the middle of the ocean, waiting and waiting there, got stung by ubur2, got bitten by sharks, and after one whole day and one whole night, in the morning then man died, and then the woman also died, eaten by sharks. Later on the fishermen in the shores find their camera inside a shark stomach, but they were never found, not even their remains. It stated that it was based on true events.
But it's not just the story, the filming, the cutting are all nutty (read:kacangan).. hehe.., so ..., I guess we should have stick with 'Be Cool'. Oya, one thing, the couple while floating on the ocean actually was separated and united and be very much in concern with each other. Other times they argue and blame each other. hehehe.., very true. couples do that, argue and blame each other and make up. It happens to us too.., also the woman blames everything on the man, so I said to my boo, "see.., it's a normal behaviour. doesn't happen on you only.., hahahaha..."
Moral of the story: If you go scuba diving, make a point to shake hand with the crew, one by one, and make sure they know you by name and by face. And also ask them to check whether you're on board already or not, IN PERSON, before leaving.
My boo just said, " we will never go scuba diving. not ever." well..., if that's the case, i guess i'll just force him to come with me to go snorkeling or scuba and wait on the boat, so that at least he will make sure that i'm on board before the ship goes off. hehehe
One more thing.., it's quite common that people are left behind when scuba diving. So scuba divers, beware! Make sure the crew does not just do a headcount like in the movie, but actually list the names, and call out each one to make sure. Di-absen kalau kata orang Indonesia, which I think now, it turned out to be a very, very, very good method. Next time a crew do an absen on you, be patient and remember, it's all for your own good.
pray to God, that people are not left out again.
